Why I Started Curiosity Creators

Why I Started Curiosity Creators

I started Curiosity Creators for one very simple reason: lived experience through your own eyes. Everyone has a unique perspective on life that carries a message for someone. A story can be used, written, or explained in many ways. The way you tell your story determines who is interested in listening.

On the surface, if I told you I was a bartender for 13 years, the image and story that play in your head might be something like Cheers, the TV show, or Moe from The Simpsons. A dive bar or a high-end cocktail lounge.

Now I say that I worked in several high-end establishments on the Las Vegas Strip and ran a mobile bartending business in Vegas, hosting private parties in high-end suites and Airbnbs. I also practiced the craft of flair bartending at a high level, reaching a basic level of skill to land a job at Carnaval Court in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.

With that lived experience, you can imagine the people I had the privilege of meeting over the years.

Now pair that with my experience and time spent in the Army National Guard, where I went to training on weekends and annual training in the summer, plus all the specialty missions and orders I always volunteered for over the 12 years I served in the Guard.

Imagine the transparency I saw, lived through, and experienced. One side being government and meeting everyone from all walks of life and professions, mainly tied into the educational system and bureaucracy. People like lawyers, nurses, police officers, firefighters, and massive amounts of college students there for the free education.

Then there was me, a high school dropout following his passion, his excitement, and his curiosity. Someone who was already a curiosity creator, creating and guiding his life through the lens of the Curiosity POD mindset. Someone who has always had a deep connection to being aware of belief systems, preprogrammed thoughts, and patterns tied to society, conditioning, and groupthink.

Awareness married with curiosity led me to be open to exploring and connecting with people on deep levels, always curious enough to understand and respect people’s perspectives.

In a sense, this is what this newsletter is doing: reaching out to my readers and, for once, giving the world my unique perspective. I will share the POD formula and see what people can do with that framework, and sit back, watch, listen, be curious, and observe like the skydiver from above (book reference: Chapter 2, Curiosity to Creation) what people can create by connecting to their own curiosity.

All curiosity starts with awareness. Awareness of another opportunity, another possibility, a question.

A question to ponder: What if?

I’ll leave you with this: What is awareness, and are you aware of your thoughts and feelings? Have you ever explored the difference or been conscious of whether you were thinking or feeling?

Try sitting quietly and asking yourself, What do I think about, and what can I do in my day today that would connect me to curiosity? Back to my childlike sense of essence, where everything in life was new and exciting and I was exploding with wonder.

Start small. You will be surprised to see what grows when you plant the seed of curiosity.

NL Post # 10 — Employment Is an Agreement, Not Ownership Give yourself permission to reclaim your power Recently, I had an interaction at work that left me thinking about something much bigger than the situation itself. I was asked to take on something I had already made clear I wasn’t available for. I said no. Not aggressively. Not disrespectfully. I simply communicated a boundary. But somewhere during the conversation, my answer stopped being treated like an answer and started being treated...

A person writing thoughtfully in the 30-Day Curiosity Reset Journal beside Curiosity to Creation, symbolizing reflection, clarity, and personal growth through curiosity

NL #9 – The Moment I Realized the Journal Was More Than a Workbook When I created the 30-Day Curiosity Reset Journal, I knew what I wanted it to offer. A place to slow down. A place to reflect. A place to become curious about where you are, what you need, and where you may want to go next. But creating something and witnessing it work are two completely different experiences. Recently, I gave a copy of the journal to a friend who was navigating a significant transition in his life. It was one...
